Greetings Everyone, The oil spill breaks my heart. I love nature and I love the gulf coast where I was born and have lived for many years.  The mangroves, the birds, the fish, the crabs and hundreds of other living things in our eco-system are being harmed.     Nature is my life. I want to help...... Most of you know of my mission in painting and preserving all coastal areas around the world. Hawaii is truly a paradise. Every island in the chain and every view transports you into another world of beauty. I lived in Kailua, Oahu for  many years and traveled to each of the islands on painting journeys. The Aloha spirit serves to make the views even more beautiful.  I hope all of my paintings of Hawaii remind you of that special beach that takes you away into a very peaceful place.

Seascape Bahamas Passage Early Morning Peace by Phyllis O'Shields

This plein air painting was done early one spring morning in the Bahamas, it could have been painted  on any of the islands.  The morning's brief rain had just cooled off the air and one could still smell the rain.

Although a small painting 16 x 20 this will be used as a study for a larger painting.
One can only believe the clear light blues and greens of the water by being there to experience it. I hold painting workshops in the Bahamas twice a year.

Seascape Mangroves Late Afternoon Key Largo by Phyllis O'Shields

Late afternoon in the Key Largo mangroves is truly a magical time. Beautiful colours from the sun setting cast a glow over the entire area lighting up the sky and water with the reflections. This was truly an enjoyable time painting en plein air.  This is a small study 11 x 14 inches used for a larger painting.
